My first ticket HELP!!

I from Philadelphia.I got stoped for speeding at a high rate of speed and careless driving.The weather conditions clean.It was also12:20AM.I stoped at the stop sign and then hit the gas as hard as i could while turning.The engine screeming and the tiers louder i accelerated to the next stop sign. The van has a 4cyl so i couldn't have been going that fast(the street is only about 100yds long,25MPH speed limit).I stoped at the next stop sign and hit the gas again but not as hard as the last.I look at my rear view and i see a cop with its headlights off then I Make a left onto some street and thats were i got stoped.I'm 19 and this is my first ticket.i pleaded not guilty and am going to court feb.8,2005.The ticket was for $115.I'll pay the ticket but i don't want any points.On the ticket it does not say how much i was speeding over or nothin.Is this a good idea or not?Please help!Oh yeah the van wasn't mine it was my friends dad.the van was legal and insured.Thax.

Why does somebody drive like that in a van? What are you getting a ticket for? Speeding? Going too fast for conditions?

the ticket said driving at a high rate of speed.Then the circled careless driving were the list of other vilations were.i wasn't going that fast.Someone said to me to plea bargin the case or something like that.Yeah it was stupid but i learned my lession.

Pennsylvania Speeding Ticket

It sounds like the officer gave you a break and just charged you with speeding. Check the statute listed on the ticket. 3362 is speeding.

Section 3111(a) of the Pennsylvania
Vehicle Code is "Obedience to Traffic Control Devices".
You may be able to ask the officer to allow you to plead
guilty to this section instead of 3362.

This is a no points ticket which is what you need to keep
your insurance premiums down.

Yeah, you will go to court and meet with the cop prior to going into the court room. Dress well (shirt, tie, dress pants). Go in, explain you were driving like and idiot, don't make excuses. Explain to the cop that you know you were wrong and will gladly pay the fine, but you are worried about the insurance points. Every teenager I know in my area who has gotten their first speeding ticket has been cut a break and had it reduced to "disobeying a traffic control device".

When this happens you go into the court, the cop tells the judge that he feels it should be reduced. You thank the judge and the cop. Pay the $105 or whatever and get off without any points.

It has a book which costs like $30, you can buy that as a backup incase they don't reduce the ticket...but if you were respectful to the cop, if it is your first time in court, and if the cop isn't a complete prick, you will most likely get cut a break.
