2001 T&C remote entry problem

I have a 2001 Chrysler T&C LXi model with power sliding doors and liftgate. Both of our remotes for the remote keyless entry (RKE) worked fine forever. Until the last couple weeks. Niether remote will lock, unlock, open side doors or liftgate, or panic. I figured it was a blown fuse somewhere but I didn't find anything. I also figured out that if either remote is within 2 foot of the BCM (located under drivers side dash) that the remotes will work just fine. Anywhere outside of that 2 foot range and they will not work. Seems strange that the batteries in both remotes would have went weak at the same time. I removed the batteries and checked the voltages of the batteries and all of them are 3.1V. The batteries are 2016 type 3V batteries so I assume 3.1V is plenty of voltage. I will try new batteries but I am afraid there is something else going on besides the batteries. Also the anti-theft system and the unlock all doors with key from one lock thing works fine. Has anyone else had a problem like this in their T&C or Caravan/Voyager??? Does the BCM have a wire that is used as an antenna like aftermarket systems have?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Thumbs up Re: 2001 T&C remote entry problem

Found an answer on the web when both my keyless remotes stopped working on my 2003 T&C at the same time. Disconnected the battery for about 5 minutes. Resets the computer...both remotes started working again.
