d15 turbo 1
ok, im sure this has been asked a thousand times, but what turbo would be best for a stock d15b2 with stronger rods and a sohc zc cam for a homemade turbo. also i need to know how to run the vacume lines and also some info for a fuel management system, how it works and do i need it to push 150 to 200 whp. also, can i diable the internal wastegate or take it off the turbo to use a external or is a internal as good as a external and how do i set my psi without a turbo timer or do i need a turbo timer. i only want to run like 7 to 9 psi for now till i build another engine. please i would like some help with this. Thanx

150 - 200 hp on a d15b2 with 7-9 psi..... aint gonna happen, if the turbo has an internal wastegate, just keep it, it can be adjusted, turbo timers do not set the boost, turbo timers keep the car idleing for a certain amount of time with the key out so that it can cool down properly and not cake the oil onto the turbo, u would need a boost gauge and adjust the wastegate untill u make enough boost. its better to get forged rods and new pistons too just to be safe

actually u dont need a new exhuast housing, i have a td04 that had an internal wastegate on it, they welded a small piece of metal over top to close it off. so now i have to use an external one

Re: d15 turbo 1
thanx for the info guys, no im still at dpfi but soon to upgrade to a mpfi, just wanted some info so when i do turbo. i know that i have to get new and stronger internals. also my car has 16" rims, its just the way it was sitting when i took the pic, i have a lowering kit, just havnt had the time to put it on yet, been working lots of hours at work. how much does a fmu cost and a turbo timer, im trying to keep cheap for now with my budget. i want to turbo my d15b2 stock with like 5 to 6 psi if it posable for a while till i get my other engine built. but i do really adpreciate all of your input.
thanx again

if you still have the dpfi (dual point fuel injection, basically throttle body injected), you should look into converting it to mpfi (multi point juel injection). I mean you dont really have to but it will get you closer to your goal of 150-200hp. do a search for mpfi conversion to get more info on how to do it. But as you said, if your just doing this till you can build another engine keep it dirt cheap if you want. Or you could just suck it up and turn this into your built engine
