1996 Bonneville wont start

The engine cranks, and I can hear a clicking inside the car near the glove box(relay?), but the car wont start. I replaced the fuel pump about a year ago, could it be bad already? Thanks for the help.

This is exactly the problem I am having. Have you any answer yet?

I have the same problem with my 96 Firebird 3.8l. The radio and windows also dont work either. Fuses are good.

I don't know if this will help but. I have a 1993 Bonneville that wouldn't start. The dome light would would come on, the head lights would come on but when I tried to start the car nothing. I spent all morning troubleshooting. I check the battery with a volt meter it appeared to be good. Out of desperation I tried to have it jump started nothing. I thought I might have a bad starter, but on a whim I removed the positive terminal from the battery even though the connections looked good. I could not believe my eyes when I found that corrosion had developed on the battery stud inside the battery connection (side post) which limited the amperage going to the starter and preventing the starter from even turning over. A took a little baking soda and water and cleaned off the post threads and the battery opening put it back together and she fired right up.

The fuel pump relay is near the glove box. The PCM (computer) controls when the relay is energized. If it is indeed the fuel pump relay that's clicking then I'd try another PCM.

As was already mentioned the battery cable connections are troublesome on these cars. The two positive cables come together inside a single rubber boot. You need to remove the bolt & rubber boot in order to properly clean the corrossion off both sides of the two positive cables & the spacer between them. Try cleaning the cables before getting a new PCM.
