over heating problems

i have a 86 rx 7 gxl and whenever i start to turn it over it some how gets pressure into the cooling system if it even dont start. and when i start it up than i shut it down than all the coolant pushes into the overflow and doesnt suck back in, whats wrong? well i took me intake manifold off and checked the gaskets, because i was thinking maybe the exhaust manifold was blowing hot air into the cooling system to make it overheat within 2 minutes of it starting up, it it is warmed up or not, i dont have a clue. but i noticed the intake manifold gasket had sand in between the gasket and the manifold and it was built up all over the place from the previous owner, and i also took the radiator hoses and checked them out and there was that same sand in it. could it be that gasket and exhaust that gets into the system?

i think you have a blown coolant seal?

I agree with the coolant seals. You are going to need to rebuild the motor or put in another.

hows the smoke from the exhaust ? if its white or anormal then ur burning something that shouldnt burn

Sound Like A Rebuild To Me, My 94 Fd Had The Same Problem And Mazda Checked Everything 5 Times Before They Figured It Out! Good Luck

Ok you need to have your coolent system pressure checked to see if you have a seal bad, but like everyone else has said that is what it sounds like but it's nice to know for sure before you tear into an engine for a rebuild.

try this when engine is cold. open rad cap fill up your rad to the max, then disconect the injector fuseand crank the engine. if coolant splashes out you have a blown coolant seal.
