Another 1.8t kill

Meant to post this last night, but someone put a beer in my hand before I could get to the computer, and well, it was all down hill from there. Lets just say I went to bed at about 8:30 this morning, just woke up, and have one hell of a hangover.

Anyways, I was out cruising around last night, not really looking for a race, but not exactly driving slow either. Actually, I'm driving in a rahter spirited manner down this somewhat back way highway...I cant really explain it. Its two lanes both ways, plus a concrette devider and two brake down lanes, so its wide, and its hilly, with nice, long sweeping turns. Elchico might know what I'm talking about, not sure the name of the road, but I've been down it a few times, and its pretty easy to get going pretty fast.

Anyways, I get to one of the few lights on this road (I think its well over a mile between each light), and a car pulls up next to me. I look over, seeing a nice looking black Jetta, aftermarket wheels, and a nice punk chick driving (I love punk rock chicks...I dunno why, theres just something about a girl with short hair and a pierced tounge/lip/nose). I'm not sure if she wants to go, but, just in case, I take it outa sport mode into the StepTronic, and let it sit at first. I look over a second time, and she revs it. Doesn't sound like anything special, and I know she wants to run know.

Light goes green, and I get a pretty launch (as much as you can launch an auto...) and get a pretty good jump on her...Either she bogged the launch, or didn't think I was gonna race becuase I dont rev back after a rather embarising incident reagarding a stock Civic and me getting stuck in neutral. I keep about a half carlength on her up to 70 (which convinced me she was trying), and pulled the full length at 85-90ish. We keep it up to about 115, maybe 120, wasn't really paying attention, and hold it here for about a half mile before she flashes the highbeams, and I let off. We coast down to 40 (the speed limit), and she gives me thr thumbs up, which I return, and turns at the next light. Mark one up for the Bimmer! I was talking to my friend about it, and he told me I should get a bunch of 1.8t badges, and everytime I kill one, to put it on my door. I reminded him that hes the one with the Type R sticker on his Lexus.

Only other race I got was a thurough and true trouncing by a Carrera with temp plates (I hope he broke that thing in first). All in all, a good night, and the intake his comming very soon...just need to order it, which should happen by the end of next week! Wahoo!

Re: Another 1.8t kill

I havent gotten it dynoed, but on average fr4om what I've read its somewhere over a buck sixty at the wheels, I think AA dynoed a stock one to 164ish, its 184 at the crank. The intake I wanna get promises (and companies have dynoed to confirm it) about 20hp, so that would put me near 180 at the wheels (I'm assuming they mean 20 to the crank).

Re: Another 1.8t kill

nice man, maybe thats stadium?? the road ai mean, its nice plenty of room long turns, long straight areas but there are too many places for cops to hand out and i don't know where you would have gotten to 120 on it, last time i tried that my back end almost washed out (maybe i need downforce)

anyways awesome, looks like payday is wednesday so i'll get my new tires and we can roll
and TintPro is getting a dyno in february, so we should get our cars done that'd be cool

Re: Another 1.8t kill

Nice, I'd be up for that. I think it might be stadium, its the same road that the mall is on. Right when you get on it (where it intersects broadway) there are some long open parts before you get to the lights down by the stadium.

those silly little 1.8t's aren't worthy of that sweet bimmer. i am a big fan of the 3-series, and, btw, nice kill.

you should make your license plate DUBKILLR (would post smiley, but they don't work right now).

that's true, but you're still the winner. "wining is winning whether it's by an inch or a mile..." once u get that intake (hope u r in fact getting one, i forgot to make sure in you r sig) u will see much better results.

im not taking any chances tonight, i'll be driving the g35. i just got back from chicago (my job makes it necessary for me to go between pennsylvania and illinois quite often), and i left the GTI there. thus, i don't really have a choice, but all kills for the next couple of months will be done w/the G.

Re: Another 1.8t kill

Ah, but the 1.8T (jetta or A4) respond extremely well to mods...they make a reasonably-priced chip (by who I forgot, neuspeed or oettinger) that add another 50-60 hp by screwing around with the turbo boost settings, and after that those things are no joke.

Yea, I've heard about chipped GTI 1.8t's beating 325i's and Ci's pretty handily. Nice kill though

Re: Another 1.8t kill

Damn skippy. Yeah, I dread the day I run a chipped 1.8t...But hey, its all good. If I had a 1.8t, first thing I'd before anythign is chip it.
