Re: White Rims, HELP!

thats easy....just remove the brakes...no brake dust and some weight off the car. haha i dont know man..maybe there are pads made of different materials which cut down on the dust

good job n00bs, youve completely destroyed this post

getting new brakes might help reduce the buildup. otherwise, clean them and live with it.

Re: White Rims, HELP!

keep a designated rag in the car, and remember that when you brake really h ard a lotta hot dust comes out at a time. the harder you are on youre brakes the more unneeded dust youll have and more often youll have to clean them. even my alloy colored ones are stained from brake dust, you have to be on top of it from the start. there is no way to avoid it other than getting metallic other than ceramic pads next time, which will help but not solve the prroblem. get a rag and shine them in front of all the hunnies to show them your car is in tip top shape

Re: White Rims, HELP!

Only thing I can suggest are new brakes/brake pads, unless you want to wipe them down everytime you get out of the car.

Re: White Rims, HELP!

there is a ceramic pad that is available to buy that is suppose to help reduce the sight of dust. i couldnt tell you the brand but if you go to a parts store i am sure they can help you.

Re: White Rims, HELP!

go easy on the guy... some cars look good with white wheels on them.

as for the dust... ceramic pads would help cut the dust level down. but white wheels need cleaning more often than others either way. i used to have a set myself

Ceramic pads + Slotted Rotors work well for me. I practically never clean my rims. Not a speck of brake dust either.

Get new pads that produce lower pads. My guess is your running OEM type pads, which produce a load of brakedust. If it's a really big problem for you, look into a low-dust pad like semi-metallic like Axxis/PBR Metal Master or a pad like EBC "Greenstuff" pads; or cermanic "Redstuff" brake pads, which all will produce lower brake dust than OEM pads and will stop better too. Upgraded low-dust pads will produce less brake dust. Pair them with Powerslot rotors and you'll notice you stop better too.

Re: White Rims, HELP!

Ceremic pads and slotted rotors are a great idea. Also, you can get a teflon spray at like walmart to spray on, then brake dust would be very easy to clean off next time you washed.
