99 ZX2 wont start!!! Weird buzzing

Can anyone please help me??? I put in a new intake the other day, and it ran fine. Than i was given the bright idea of disconnecting the battery to reset the computer so I can use the intake the best. Well, I reset the comp, and now my car wont start. When I turn the key, it turns over just fine, but never starts up. And now when I turn just the radio on, I am getting a buzzing sound from a part that is underneathe whrer the air filter goes. Its a part that has a bunch of wires connected to it, if anyone would need the part number I could give it to them. Anyways, also when I turn the radio on, my rpm gauge goes all the way on, I dont know if this is significant, but I thought I might mention it. Hmmm...what else, oh when I reconnected the battery termonal, i broke off the nut that keeps on the neg wire, but like I said, im getting power, so I dont think this is the cause. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.

Did reconnect the MAF (mass air flow) sensor or any other little sensors that might be put in the intake path?

I did put the sensors back in, the MAF, if that is the sensor that looks like a little light bulb inside a ring,that one isnt as far in the intake tube as it was, but it still is in, so I dont think that is the problem, plus, it was running fine before I disconnected the battery.

explain the buzzing? if the nut isn't tightened on the - terminal you might not be getting a good ground. that doesn't explain the buzzing though. ive heard of buzzing if you switch the wires though. make sure you got + to + and - to -. push the plug for your MAF in as hard as you can to make sure it's all the way in.

Fords go nuts with anything other than a perfect ground (negative) Seen wierder things caused by just that.

Was working on an Escort GT once, customer complaint of random dash/gauge issues and strange clicking, chattering noises. Test drive, intermittantly would "freak out", gauges swinging all over, lights flickering, buzzing and chattering under dash. Started with the essentials. Check battery connections, and work out from there. The bolt on the neg cable end was cracked, with the key off, if I moved it around, the wipers would try to start, relays under the hood chattered, I even got a couple of clicks from the starter solenoid. Almost like demon posession. New cable, all issues solved. Might not be your problem, but it was worth mentioning.

Did you get up and running? I am having a very similar problem and was wondering if you could share how you got it running again. Also, the sound I have is more of a loud constant ring under the dash - was yours similar?
