Re: intercooler = snow

I wouldn't think so it is almost the same as driving in the rain. It should be able to handle the weather fine

Re: intercooler = snow

The problem is ice build up. But mine FMICs have survived several new england winters even with 50 pounds of ice packed on the IC. Just be careful if you try to clear it off, you can do some good damage with the snow scraper/brush. The salt and other deicers will cause some slight corrosion as well, but its just on the surface, at least until its been through many many winters. NJ can't be that bad... We've been getting a lot of snow up herein mass... Another foot and a half today and tonight, LMAO.

Re: intercooler = snow

Looks like this blizzard is hittin eveyone. We got 13" right now and its still fallin here in MI. I just took my car out and the mouth of my bumper (97-99 bumper) was packed with snow. I was doin more plowing then the snow plows

I would just get as much as the snow off the intercooler as I could with my hands

we had like 6 inches of snow today, plus like 40mph winds. There were cars in like every single ditch. I hate winter.

Re: intercooler = snow

Getting 20 inches here. Winds have been between 40 and 80 mph. The snow has been pretty fluffy since its like 7 degrees here, so the wind is piling it up in massive drifts as high as houses, etc. I can't believe how many storms we've had so far this year, really wish I bought that plow back in october. At ~60-70 bucks an hour, I can almost make 2 weeks pay in one good storm. Thats a lot of mod money!

Re: intercooler = snow

Actually the snow and ice on the intercooler should help.... if and/or when it heats up it will just melt the crap right off....while it's there it should act as if you had a sprayer bar installed....
I'm in MN and was hit friday with lots of snow...30 min drive home ended up being 1H 45min drive....I should have got pics of it... I had big icicles hanging down the front clip lookin like freeky teeth and all the snow was melted from the IC, oil Cooler, and radiator.....

Re: intercooler = snow

The problem is that the melting/freezing causes expansion/contraction. I'd rather keep that shit off my core. But by trying to remove it there is some risk of damage too. Thats why I'm going to win the lottery and move the hell out of the north east.
