troubleshooting anyone?

I have a 95 dx coupe with a d15b7, last night I took my g/f and a couple of friends to the theatre, bout 45 minute drive. After about a half hour there are some steeper hills. when i got to the top of the first one my heat guage went up to about 3/4, so i pulled over to cxheck it out. there was antifreeze all over the fanhousing etc. but there was still lots of antifreeze in the rad. Nowe even though it was that hot my fan wasnt running. My guess was the temperature was roughly -23c, and i had four adults in the car. On the way home it did the same thing but when i dropped the two people off it sat around 1/4 to 1/2(usual running temp). This morning i checked to see if there was antifreeze in the rad, and yes there was but the overflow tank was near empty. I started the car up to check for bubles thinking it was a blown headgasket or cracked head, but there were no bubbles. The antifreeze was flowing slowly out of the top but there were no bubbles... this has me stumped. I left the car running for 15-20 minutes and the fan did not turn on. the temp out today is -18c. Would a dead fan motor create these symptoms?? can anyone help. thnx
sorry for the long story

Re: troubleshooting anyone?

check the radiator for cracks and leaks. check the overflow for cracks and leaks. check all hoses for cracks and leaks.

if you suspect the fan motor, check it for resistance and continuity.

Re: troubleshooting anyone?

I would try flushing your radiator and then adding some water weld after you filled it back up. I had a similar problem and added the water weld and never had the problem again. I found the stuff at walmart
