PLEASE HELP 03 windshield wipers no tension

i am wondering how to get the WHOLE winsheild wiper arm off of the vehicle. I went under the hood and took cap off of the nut. i took the nut off and now i just can't pull off wiper arm. i need to do this because the wiper blades have no tension because i pulled them up too far. i need to get the little "C" connector on so i have to bend the wiper in. PLEASE PLESE help its snowing and i can't see when i drive!!!!!!!!!!
