side skirts

I have been thinking of changing side skirts on my base stealth. i want the one with the scoops like all the 3000 gt's, mine has nothing!

now what im wondering is, is this a siple change? i have noticed that the doors and basicly around the car is a grey panel, will this panel be in the way of the side skirt? as i have not seen this panel on the 3000gt's

Re: side skirts

I have a pair of aftermarket ones, there is one big flat scoop (like a mustang but smaller). I intend to sell them pretty soon, probably on 3SI. I don't know what kind they are because they came with my last car and I didn't need them.

Edit: They don't look hard to take off, the difficult bit would be painting them the same color. Heres a bomex PDF of how to install them.

Re: side skirts

if u use those sideskirts thourun is talkin about, which are what i have on my stealth, u will need the door skins off of a 3000GT so the door will line up with the side skirt

Re: side skirts

ive been thinking og using p-38 or p-40 to get rid og the lines so there will be no need of lining it up..... there are so few 3000gt/stealths in me country that i culdnt find thoes door's even if i wanted to.

Re: side skirts

i know this is an of topic but i was looking at http://erebuni.net/ge/mi3000GT.htm the kit on the bottom says that this is a kit for the 94-98 models of 3000gt but can be used on a 1 gen with either bodifying the fbs around the parking light aeria or using 91-93 dodge stealth parking lights.

so that must mean that the 91-93 dodge parking lights are the same as in the 1994-1998 3000gt's

but back to the side skirts i found this.... is this like your side skirts? http://216.55.128.40/sonnic2/ExtImag...ecomplete.jpg? or do you maybe have some pics?

Re: side skirts

that erebuni front bumper will fit. its for both 94-98 models and 91-93 models. but the turn signals it is talkin about are the ones from the 2nd gen 3000GTs. they are different from the 1st gen stealths. so u will need the ones off a 3000GT.

Re: side skirts

are you shure? the turn signals on a 2 gen 3000gt look exactly like my 1 gen stealth? i have been wondering alot about this becouse no one seams to know if the clear turn signal for 94-98 3000gt's will fit a 91-93 stealths

by the way, was it much work to get the list's from the doors of your car. it looks much better without them

Re: side skirts

No the 2g 3k lights are not the same as 1g stealth lights. They are very very different.

Re: side skirts

I was intending on taking pics this weekend but I don't feel like gaoing out to the garrage which is buried in snow and taking a pic today. They look exactally like these bomex ones except for the small inlet under the main one.
http://www.3000gt.lv/bomex.htm
Also there is no hole for the inlet yet, It'd be easy enough to cut one out though and put some black mesh or something in there.

Re: side skirts

there doesnt have to be a hole, on mine i just painted it black. thats how the car on the bomex site was done. plus i think if u cut a hole there it would weaken the side skirt

it wuld be grate if you can take a pic's of the side skirts when you have the time!
do ypu guys think that i wuld look silly to have side skirts that are probably a bit lower then the rest of the car

Re: side skirts

yea it was pretty easy to remove them. i believe it was just a few screws to take off on the inside of the door, then it was glued on as well.
