Re: making interior pimp and such.
I don't know, but if it is for a Honda, they probably already make what you want.

Re: making interior pimp and such.
its not that hard, just take it all apart and make sure you use a very strong glue or it could start to lift after a while,.,.,..,.,

Re: making interior pimp and such.
all depends on what you are going over , and what type glue you use.. going over plastic should'nt be much of a problem, but you'll have problems going over other fabric and soft foam vinyl pieces..

Re: making interior pimp and such.
some of the door panels break up into seperate parts, taking them apart will make the job easier and look better. you shouldn't have any problem sticking it to the vinyl, i assume the material your talking about is felt which is a bit like carpet only thiner. i know some poeple will say spray adhiesve will do it but from personal experence i find it get a bit loose after a while,

Re: making interior pimp and such.
contact cement... spray it on both surfaces and slap them together.. all the pros do it that way..

That is exactly what I did. I have a 92 honda prelude, and I redid the entire interior in dark and light blue velvet. The ceiling, dash, door panels, and seats are all in velour. There is a special spray glue to use and then use hot glue when tacking down the fabric to the back of the panels and stuff. To see my car go here:

ludegal, the pictures of your car are hard to see, but it looks cool from what i can tell. where did you purchase the velour from and how much did it cost you to do it? also, was it a pain in the ass to install? |

Re: making interior pimp and such.
All very good suggestions, but sticking anything to vinyl door panels is very difficult uless you remove the vinyl first, which is a pain. Contact glue does work very good if sprayed on both surfaces, but only if both surfaces are porous. Vinyl is not porous, the glue will not actually grab onto the vinyl, it merely sits on top ands holds for a while. I had a very good friend of mine who intalls leather interiors for a living do mine (97 Prelude) and it work fine for about six months, but then the piece just kind of fell off. Now, there is one way that would work, if the particular section you are trying to recover is pinched all around it by other parts of the door panel, it will stay, but you could see some lifting in the flat areas. The best and most reliable way to do it would be to take the door panel apart, remove the vinyl that is to be recovered, get some high quality foam padding and go to town. Hope it turns out the way you want.
