well my car is smashed...

Was on my way to work and ended up going into the back of a 3rd gen camaro at somewhere between 35-40. I was drivng down a regular two lane road behind a brown truck and all a sudden the brown truck swirves off the road at the last second in the snow. by the time i saw him swirve and saw the camaro sitting right in front of me at a dead stop i didnt have time to do anything but get my foot on the brake and brace myself.

Anyhow my car is pretty much smashed up front. I'll get some pics up tomorrow. The camaro was pretty well off. Both me and the chick I hit came out no injuries so thats good. Im feeling kinda lucky considering no airbags in my car.

peace

Re: well my car is smashed...

naw no gsx for now. i rear ended the chick so its my fault wether the truck screwed me over or not. And the car is only on liability so yeah...

I'm prolly going to rebuild it again. This car already had a rebuilt title. I was looking and it is gonna need a radiator support, radiator, both headlights, hood, bumper cover and right hand fender. It might need a couple pulls on the framerack to get that front end straight again but thats no problem my cousin has access to one. If anyone has any of the above mentioned parts let me know. peace

Damn its good your all right. I was just thinkin, if your going to fix your car, go with a carbon fiber hood and a front end conversion!!!

Re: well my car is smashed...

yeah i was planning a 97-99 conversion. it would be just as easy to replace the stuff with a 97-99 bumper cover and 97-99 headlights. as far as a cf hood i dont really have the money right now im prolly just gonna try to find a cheap oem at a scrap yard or something.

Re: well my car is smashed...

Well I looked underneth it and stuff and didnt find any evidence of crumple zone damage. I think it might have knocked the front end a lil out of wack but its nothng a framerack cant fix.

Re: well my car is smashed...

I'm in the same boat, sorta, except mine isn't quite near as bad. ('94 eclipse btw)

I managed to "bang out" the left side headlight bracket so it mounts flush (well, flush enough... anyways), but I need to replace the hood since it crumpled (but still latches).

can anyone give me a short walk-though on how to replace the hood?

Also, I need to replace the driver-side quater panel (someone in an only 70's van backed into me and left a nice dent.
