Swap question??

Hey guys I got a chance to get a wrecked 94 integra and I was wondering if I can unbolt the whole front end(drive train including the engine gearbox axels power steering rack struts upper and lower control arms etc etc) I mean just take out the 4-8 bolts and drop the whole thing down at once and bolt it directly to a 93 civic coupe?? Just wondering if it was possible. Also what else will be good to the 93 civic coupe?

Thanks

Re: Swap question??

It is going to be a lot more work than just 4-8 bolts, but you could do it. You have to unhook all the electrical wires, sensors, fuel lines, vaccuum lines, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, tranny, cv joints and a list of other things. Then when you have it in the Civic you have to assemble all of it again. I would say that if you knew what you were doing, it would take probably 6-8 hours probably more though...my guess. That guess is providing that the engine is already out of the Civic.

Re: Swap question??

Yea I know there is more to it than just 4-8 bolts I have droped the whole assembley that way a few times but I was wondering if I dropped the whole thing at once from the 94 teg will it bolt directly in the 93 civic coupe. I mean leave everything together as in the engine, gearbox, powersteering rack, inner and outer tierods, axels, wheel hubs, upper and lower control arms etc. When I say 4-8 bolts I mean the 4(I think theres 4) that holds the powersteering rack assembly and rear engine mount to the frame and the 4 up front that bolts the rest of the assembley to the frame. When its out on the floor you will see the whole drive train steering rack, struts, everything. So I'm wondering will this full drive train bolt directly in my 93 Civic Coupe?

Thanks for the reply!!

Re: Swap question??

I don't see how you're going to be able to keep everything together and just drop it into the Civic. I would think that you would have to disassemble it and put it back together in the Civic. The body of the Civic will get in the way of axles and suspension components, so i don't think that you can do this unless you tear the car apart or disassemble the parts from the Integra.

Re: Swap question??

well I have droped the whole thing at once in 91 civics and a 91 integra but I have never tried bolting it up to anything else different. I drop it trough the bottom. Unbolt everything let go all the lines main harness plugs cables front brake lines etc than lift the body and the whole drive train stays on the floor. This is what I need to know: Will it bolt directly to the 93 civic? Not sure if you get what I'm asking.

Thanks
