my heater core is leaking and seem it's a dealer only item ($260.00 ouch!!). does anyone know of an aftermarket source or cheaper alternative that will fit & work??

how can you tell if your heater core is leaking?i have to add water to my radiator (2 or 3 cups) every week.no white smoke from tail pipe so i do not suspect a blown head gasket.
