ford HD engine color

I have searched all over and can not find any reference that tells me what color a heavy duty Ford engine would have been in the mid 1960's. I want to paint the engine in my C-600. Its a big block gasoline motor, not diesel. Any body have any idea what color it should be?

Re: ford HD engine color

Not all Ford engines are blue. I have seen articles stating that they were black, some years, and had gold valve covers on some years, etc.

Re: ford HD engine color

Hey,

I was wondering this same question. Luckily, I'm going to automotive school and there is a big truck section. The instructor said ford used a blue or an orange for the engines for those bodies. I am going with the blue. Good luck with your truck.
