Angry 02 Ranger new fender

My 02 Ranger needs a new left fender, I was going to buy it and install it myself and i wanted to know if its possible or i would need pro help, also at random times when I'm stopped, I tap the gas to go but all the truck does is rev up and then jolts forward, any ideas what this could be and how to fix it?

Re: 02 Ranger new fender

Take a look at the airbag sensor behind your crunched fender. Fender is easy to replace if no other metal was damaged, you'll know once fender is removed. My guess is that sensor was damaged.

Re: 02 Ranger new fender

the jolting is not good. sounds like the tourque convertor is going bad. if your od light on dash starts blinking, get it to dealer or trans shop quick!!! $1800 to rebuild mine. kind of had same symptoms. valve body gasket blew and clogged up sensors and fluid passages and fried trans clutches.
