2004 cava with CEL

Hello everyone,

Today I was driving to work and my Check engine light came on. The light is on it does not flash. I really am not sure what this light stands for I think it has something to do with the emission control system which could be caused by the air system, fuel system or ignition system. Because I am stationed in germany right now I have no way to pull the code. Is there any way to find the problem with out pulling the code.

It is a 2004 2.2l ecotec only mod right now is an AME CAI which has been on the car for about 3 months.

Thanks for any help.

Could be alot of things. have you noticed a gas milage gone down? if so could be an 02 sensor an Iat sensor. other than that it will be hard to tell unless you have the code checked.

Re: 2004 cava with CEL

Well I unhooked the battery and cleared the check engine light I have now driven about 100 miles and no CEL yet. I ordered a code puller from JCW so if happens again I will be able to pull it and have a place to start. I figured if I am going to been overseas for a few more years it would come in handy to have one. I found one place around here that can pull the code but they charge 80 Euro about $100 just to pull the code.
