94 Probe GT..40k Miles

Yea so I was cruising autotrader looking for some cars around my area (moved to colorado from NY) and I come across the probes, so I decided it's worth a look, might find a a good deal, low and behold there is a 94 Probe GT with 44k miles on it for 3,995. This thing is gorgeous, inside and out clean not a single dent/scratch/burn hole, seats arent worn, brand new Blue Paint job, and the engine bay looked REALLY new.

So my question is, is this a probe fans wet dream? And Do you think the engine REALLY has 40k miles on it. Did they completely yank out the old one and put in a new one?

Heres a link to what it looks like.

Re: 94 Probe GT..40k Miles

hey, that engine isn't a gt, it is a se, it's no 6 sylinder, it is a four. this car is not a gt, it is false advertising, he must have had some gt stickers put on it when he got it painted. it looks pretty nice, but be careful, because they already lied about the gt thing. good luck, probes are pretty awesome, but can be a real pain sometimes. the price is definatly high too, even though it only has 40k, it is still an se, and i am not a big fan of those, cause there not that fast, but if all your worried about is looks, then that car is great. again good luck finding a car

Four-cylinder with a five-speed is OK performance-wise, but it's not gonna knock your socks off. And yeah, I'd be a little wary of the "GT package" that's been added. Makes you wonder what else might have been changed, or how much extra profit they've added...

If it tells you anything, Go Autos (the dealer in question here) is about a half-mile down the street from a Maaco shop - you do the math.

Welcome to Colorado, by the way! Good to see someone migrating here from the east coast rather than the west for a change.

Re: 94 Probe GT..40k Miles

Good to know, Thanks. Am really bummed out that its not a GT engine, really had my hopes up that I would finally be able to land a great looking GT Probe but guess not. Ill keep looking then, maybe have to go back to the 300ZX's

EDIT: Although this is why I love this site, always keeps me from getting a bad deal or getting ripped off. Oh and where in colorado are ya from? Emailed the Dealer asking him what was up with the Ad, and he claimed it was the wrong photo that had been posted, and coincedentially it sold for FULL price today.

haha, sounds like B.S to me, one of you guys should drive down there, and make this bastard pay for his false advertising, he could be facing some deep shit if everything add's up. anyway i just hate dealers like that, that's why i think you should report him.
