Tire question

Hello everyone,

I have a 2000 Tiburon and have not had one bit of trouble except for tire wear. I have 70,000 miles and I am on my 8th set of tires. The car is perfectly alligned and I am not *rough* on my car by any means. It can get pretty expensive buying the 195/55 r15 every 10 months or so, are there any other tire sized that will fit? I had read somewhere that 205/50R15 would fit but I wanted to check and see if anyone has tried that or not, not that they would be much cheaper. Any help would be appreciated.

Let me know if you find something out. I have had Michelin XGT, Yokohama Avid t4's, Yokohama AES (Maybe?), and another one that escapes me right now, maybe a cooper?

Thanks for any help.

get your ball joints, bushing, and tie rod ends checked if they are worn out a bit the tires will wobble back and forth or side to side and that will kill your tires i'll try to find more out this week

Re: Tire question

bigtdawg is right, that will be hell on your tires if they are worn. I had a broken a arm on my old car and i just tore the shit out of my tires. actually the guy at the tire place wouldnt put new tires on till i got it fixed b/c he said i would be back in in a few months needing new tires.

The tires wear perfectly even across all four tires every time. I have only had one wear unevenly out of some 28-32 tires.

Seems to me that a smaller diameter tire will wear faster then a larger one. 15's would take more revoloutions than 17's to cover the same distance. Think about it. I could be wrong but the math is right...

I see he has R speed rated (harder rubber-longer tread life), even if he has Z speed rated they shouldn't wear that fast. Either something is very wrong or these tire guys are rippin him off, IMO.
