1st time with AWD in snow

So yesterday here in southern jersey we got a inch or more of snow. It was a nice cover and the roads were pretty bad. I just bought my awd tsi in october so this was the 1st time I really could test her in the snow. The car was driving good all day, no sliding out except maybe a tiny tiny bit if it was ice but tearing through the snow it felt so much better then my previous FWD.

Anyways..that same night I'm at a light and a 3g pulls up and reved it once and then kept lettin the car roll back and forth. I was like are you serious...its so shity out. I look at the fender and its a v6. Im pretty sure it was manual but not 100%. As soon as the light turned green he started slamming the gas...he was only spinning out and shooting snow all over. I hesitated for a moment because seeing him spinning out on all this snow caught my eye...then I just floored it and tore right past him and we got to another light and he/she kept quiet. Couldn't tell if it was a male or female because it had full tint(illegal in NJ). Just figured I share this with you because I found it pretty funny that this person attempted to race in these horrible conditions and floored no less in a FWD car right off the line(light).

The AWD was awesome yesterday to sum it up.(and everyday of course)

Re: 1st time with AWD in snow

Yeah, AWD in the snow is ridiculous. With the bridgestone blizzaks I could hit full boost in each gear and not spin, with the t25, except first and second anyway. It just pulled me back in the seat like it was a nice day. Even with the Dunlop 4000s (all seasons) the car's a tank. I live on top of a very steep hill, and even with snow up over the front mount, I climb it no problem. The truck is a bit of a pain in the ass, since I have to put it into 6WD when it gets shitty. The DSM is always ready for it.

lol 6WD... Nice, gotta love duallys!

I personally like AWD in the winter just basically cause I dont need the ebrake to go sideways anymore.
