Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

Port the intake to match the heads and go with bigger valves.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

Which heads? 4V, 2V, open chamber, closed chamber? (I'd expect 4V, but you never know) What compression? Hydraulic, solid or roller cam? Flow specs? Using port-plates? Street or strip-only? (Dump the spool for street use) Which rods? Which block? Sounds like a nice car. Any pics?

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

Has Ford ever made a stout overdrive automatic ? With GM you can use the 700 which allows you to use a 4.11 or 4.56 on street and still have a nice tall cruising gear. 4.56 X .7 [ I think that's the 700 ratio ]OD = 3.19 .

Fiberglass hood. Seal the hoodscoop to the airfilter. K&N 4" tall filter.

500

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

All Ford has is the AOD, they can be built for racing but that goes beyond just installing a shift kit, the internals have to be modified too. I hear they even make them where you can manually shift 1-2-3 with the shifter then flip a switch for OD as well as getting high stall converters for them either with or without lockup.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

For best racing, the C6 auto tranny is probably the best ford makes. It doesnt have OD but who cares. It is still streetable as well, matter of fact that mustang probably already has the c6. So stay with that tranny, they can be built to handle massive HP. Sounds like a nice car, btw.

You're just going to have to go bigger valves and cam then. That will hurt your streetability, but that's just the price you'll have to pay if you want to go faster.

Either do that or put the car on a diet.
