3m 6000 series respirator filters

Can someone recommend the correct filters for this respirator ?
I'll be using a paint with a hardener.
Or do i have to use a fresh air system ?

thanks,
Cj

The filters it has should work fine but you should still have fresh air and ventilation of some sorts as the fumes dont go away for hours or days. Is it a dual or single filter respirator? 3m would be able to give you best suggestions as to what kind of filters you can use but usually the filters they come with are sufficient out doors or in ventilated areas. Fresh air systems are used when your gonna be painting in high volume in a booth or enclosed area and if you are I would definately suggest a fresh air system with full body covering. Make sure you learn how to operate the fresh air setup before using it cus if its set up improperly you can smother yourself and die. Im sure its not common but it was a safety thing I learned at the museum paint booth and when they did an example of what could happen , the guys face turned red then blue and barely made it out of the paint booth before colapsing on the ground. Each breath he took made the mask choke him even more untill he couldnt move his lungs at all. 30 seconds without proper settings and the example could have killed him if he didnt have a guy on standby to save him. Crazy example huh? After that example Id never go in a booth with fresh air without testing it first.
