Re: Info On Stealth As First Car
a twinturbo vehicle isn't what i call a good first car. kid doesnt have the skill to handle 320hp.
i say start with n/a, but its your choice, if you go turbo, BE CAREFULL!

You know they are right a twin turbo car isnt a good car for first timers but if you have the time and patience to save your money and get it by all means do. the stealth r/t turbo is a good car but its not a vr4 they say there is no difference but the vr4 is a little bit faster.
o by the way get full coverage insurance on the car....... and your life.

Dude 3000GTs were never sold in canada, I hope you live close to the border. I think the stealths were though.

yea, a turbo model definitely is not a good car. I know younger peeps who totalled their non-turbo due to driving too fast. Also, insurance will be a PIA, along with maintance, and face it, these cars are getting older every day and requiring more maintenance. I'd say that an ES or R/T non-turbo would make a great first car, and learn on that for about two years, meanwhile, get yourself a steady job at the time. Then, when your around 18, trade it in for a twin turbo, and then you'll have the money saved up for insurance, maintanence, and mods.
And trust me on this one, my friend had to go out and buy a $500 corolla just so he had something to drive. He's had a 92 vr-4 for maybe a year and a half. First off, his transfer case screwed up his transmission, luckily its under a recall and he got a new transmission for free. Then while his tranny was under warranty, his 2nd gear synchro went out and got another tranny. Then he threw on a manual boost controlller, intake, and gutted his precats, and his clutch wore out soo fast that the rivets were hitting the flywheel, so he had to get a brand new upgraded clutch. After having that done, his shifter broke on him, and he had to use duct tape on his shifter linkage so he could shift gears. Once he finally put that in and was back to racing, he spun a rod bearing, so now thats where he's at, and he's about to buy a diamente 6g72 motor for $100 and drop that in and run high compression for a while cause thats the only way he can get his car going anytime soon.
