another question about keyless entry
I have a 2000 4-Runner SR5. I bought it used from a Toyota dealer with awful customer service. I'm certain it must have been a repo as I only have a silver keys for the vehicle that work fine but stick a little when you use them in the ignition. I have a hunch that it has factory keyless entry and I'd like to try my hand at programming it with a genuine Toyota remote (found some on Ebay that I was going to buy) and I found the instructions on this site. My question is, will the programming work if I don't have a factory key with a computer chip in it? Thanks!

Re: another question about keyless entry
I have the same vehicle and mine does not have a chip in the key. The remote works fine.

Re: another question about keyless entry
I only have one key (w/ Chip) for my 2000 4runner and was about to get another one from a local Toyota dealer. For about $50, but they want $125 to do the programming of the remote entry. Could you post the website location for the instructions on doing the reprogramming.
