Unhappy 97 explorer 5R55E OD light blinking

I am NOT a trannsmission man, but have a 97 Explorer with 5R55E auto tranny dropped in my lap. Started with transfer case motor going bad. Replaced. Then it wouldn't shift on it's on (let off gas and reapply to change gears). Dropped pan and found seperator plate to case gasket blown and fluid although red, smelled like moth balls. Replaced both gaskets, low/reverse servo piston "O" rings and cover gasket, tested selenoids for shorts, checked valves for scores, warps, and movement (what little there is of it with retaining pins), and replaced filter. Now it shifts 1-2-3 fine, then the OD light starts flashing on the dash and it won't go into 4th or 5th and no coast release. After it warms up the it pulls off alright then at about 3mph the torque converter locks up (barks the tires). It will go into passing gear and appears to have plenty of power but still will not shift up or coast/free wheel. I get no reading from the PCM computer (PASS, NO CODES). It took quite a lot of riding up and down the street but the last and only code I got was 1762 (before I replaced the gaskets). I have asked numerous people here reqarding this problem and all say a blinking light will pop a code. Not on this one so far. Does anyone out there have any ideas? Maybe a tranny/transfer case wiring diagram. All schematics I have seen only say these PCM leads go to tranny but does not show the actual pin numbers/connector locations. HELP!!!
