98 Mercury Sable Brake Lamp Replacement
Can anyone tell me how to replace the brake lamp bulb in a 1998 Mercury Sable? I can't figure out how to get in the tail light to replace the bulb.

Re: 98 Mercury Sable Brake Lamp Replacement
I have a 97, it's most likely the same. Open the trunk and remove the liner from around the rear. There are plastic clips holding the liner in place. Once the liner is out you should see the nuts holding the lens assembly in place. There are more than you may think so don't get hasty and pull too hard on the lens assy. One is behind the rear wheelwell and tat one took me a while to find, I had to remove the liner near the CD player. Once you remove the lens assy you just twist the bulb holder to remove the bulb. Replace the bulb(s) and reinstall. Good luck.....
