What engine is in your B2? I would scan the codes, and see if you have an air fuel mixture problem. When I was installing MAF on my 1988 Ranger 2.9L, the configuation differences from the 3.8L MAF and my stock injectors caused it to run lean as crap. MY Ranger would bog down, almost stall when I put it into gear. Luckily I bought an IST air adjuster and I was able to run it richer. You might have a catastrophic transmission failure though.

Just a thought,
Pete
