Carburetor for 1990 Needed

I have a 1990 Wrangler with a 4.2, 6 and my carburetor is just about shot. I have had it rebuilt twice. Does anyone have any other ideas ie. a new one or a different rebuilt? HELP!

Re: Carburetor for 1990 Needed

a new what, jeep? just kidding.those carbs are notorious for problems.I have seen a lot where the throttle shaft gets really loose in the throttle body.when that happens a rebuild wont help.and depending on who does them, some of the remans have the same problem.which ever way that you go,just make sure that the throttle shaft doesnt wobble or its junk

agree that the carb was bad from the get go.....look on ebay for a jeep wrangler carb conversion kit...i put one on and not only did it pass emissions in illinois ( at 145,000 miles) but runs as good as almost new...I think the guy was (ermanhamp) something and the carb conversion was $250.00..the same price as a new one or a rebuilt (about) and mine is a 1990 4.2 also...
