Question Problem pulling rotors off

Im replacing the brakes and rotors on a 2000 taurus front.

Pads are off and calipers are off , the rotor is frozen on either with rust or whatever, I tries hitting it but dont want to do and damage to it trying to get them off, I even put a puller on it to try to yank them off but no luck,

Any sujestions on taking them off?

Cool

I recently had the same problem with my Tribute. I bought a large, good quality puller and was applying more torque on the bolt than I felt comfortable with. I put on a face shield I use for my woodworking adventures (Table saw, router, etc) and used a breaker bar to apply yet more torque and also give myself a bit more distance from the wheel in case something snapped.

Well, there was a loud snap, but I guess that was the rust breaking because the rotor did finally separate from the hub.

In retrospect, some WD40 or other rust penetrator sprayed around the lugs to get behind the rotor may help somewhat.

I had a problem getting an alloy wheel off of my daughter's Escort and had to beat it into submission with my dead blow hammer from the inside. Not exactly the kind of thing I would want to be doing when jacking up the car on the side of the road to replace a flat.
