Re: miles

Take care of it and the body will rust out before the engine dies.

Re: miles

Depends on a lot of factors actually, How much you drive it, what kind of driving conditions and a whole lot of other factors. My uncle has a Sonoma with a 4.3 in it and he’s pushing 230 thousand miles

Re: miles

I know a guy with a 92 K1500 with the 4.3 and a 5-spd, and his truck has just over 200k-and about 60 or 80 of that has been done in only 2 years, lol.

He bought it used wiht either 120 or 140k on it, and has put just over 200k on it in a relatively short time.

Re: miles

156,000 on my S-10 and it runs like new.

Had the same engine in an Astro minivan, and it lasted 122,000 had cracked piston rings, the oil was never changed (just add a quart on every tank of gas), pulled too big of a trailer with it, and the head gasket was blown for 5,000+ miles, and I think the block was cracked

Take care of them and they'll last a long time

I don't know about 4.3 but I have a 454 with over 500,000. I know what your thinking..this guy is full of sh%&. But I never have done anything to it (I dont even change the oil anymore) 6 miles to the gallon. I want it to burn up, oh and it's a 1979 C20, back when GM made things alittle more durable.
