Re: why is my 90 gts so slow?
basiaclly in a Dohc motor you have 2 sets of valves (were gunna focuz only on one side...intake) intake and exhaust, and you have 2 valves per set... only one opens and closes during normal dirving (and in normal cars) the leeft one open then rthe right and it keeps goin like that , and they have the same lift and the same lobes....but then theres a special lobe right in the midle of the 2 vales...and when a scertain amount of oil pressure is attained (higher rpms) a little pin locks the 2 valves together and makes it so the rocker arm basically goes to the bigger lobe on the camshaft...thus creating more lift and allows (technically) twice as much air into the intake ports
