Problem Diagnosis 90 Laser RS turbo

Engine making buzzing sound like a belt rubbing something until it sounded like Something Snapped when I reved the engine up to 6,000RPM. Lost 90% of power and after barely making it home at 3-5 mph it would not start again. Took off timing belt but belt is OK and compression is real good, Turbo spins freely. Anybody got any ideas?

When you lost power, did it seem like it didnt want to go over 2/3,000 RPM.. Example: Hit the gas, (floored) and it would just want to die (RPMs Dropping), then let off the gas, and it started to go again? (weakly)
