Change oil soon light after oil change???

Hi, I have a 97 Chevy Lumina LS 4.1l v6 and I love it. I just got the oil changed and the oil filter. When i turn on the ignition and start the car, the change oil soon light comes on. I know the other lights go off, but this one stays on. The mechanic that put oil in my car said that i would have to reset that. How do i reset the "Change Oil Soon" light?? Thank you.

on my 99 lumina I have to turn the key on, (but not start teh car), and press on gas pedals three times. Sometimes I have to do this a few times before it works. The change oil light will flash once its been reset.

I have a 98, and got a Chilton's manual for all this FI crap. To reset, turn car to on, but don't start, and you have to press the gas pedal fully down and fully up 3 times within five seconds. Make sure you do full presses, if you don't put it to the floor all three times it won't reset.
