Unhappy Supplements

Ok...i've been looking around the web at many different supplements. Since i've finished the protein i have i want to get more of it. I was wondering...since there are many different kinds of whey protein, which one is actually good. The last one i used to take was 100% Whey from GNC. I want a good brand of protein maybe 2lbs of it and will not break my wallet Please help.

Another thing that caught my mind is Thermo-Gain. I've seen websites and seen products called Thermo Rush and other stuff like that. My question is: How effective is this stuff and how fast will i see results?

Re: Supplements

What protein is better: Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey or Nitro-Tech? Considering time to take it and quality?

Optimum Nutrition protein is the best protein out there in my opinion. its what i currently use. I've used all sorts of other brands like EAS and others but they all tasted horrible. To be honest, Optimum Nutritionis the only tasty brand and it disolves a hell of a lot better than all the otehr proteins too. I'm pretty sure on bodybuilding.com it was also voted as top protein out there.

As for how soon you will see results......well, you should know in bodybuilding results don't come quickly. Only supplement that i've tried and had quick results with was creatine.

also, if you wanna save money why not talk to the guy you're buying it from. tell him that if he gives you a good price you will be a regular customer for your protein. I get a 14% discount this way on my protein and save heaps of cash by going to the one shop everytime.

Re: Supplements

Hey Zwrangler, what u said about, "if you wanna save money why not talk to the guy you're buying it from. " That is true. The guy im buying it from is gonna give me like a 20% discount.

Still, im hesistated on what to get. I've heard from many of my friends that Nitro-Tech is the way to go. But i read the label on the back of the tub, and it said to take it immediately. Since i live like 30min. away from the gym, is it ok to wait that long to take it? The reason that i have to wait that long is that my dad doesnt know that im on protein. Im looking for a protein that is good in quality and a descent price for 2lbs. I also heard that 100% Whey from GNC is also a "bang for your buck".

Re: Supplements

yes you can wait till you get home to take the protein shake, it shouldn't affect you much and almost everyone does it that way. If you're really not sure which protein to buy then i suggest you buy one brand now and when it runs out try the other brand. This is the best way and its the only way to find out which protein you like better. Also, its generally a good practise to switch your protein brands every now and again since each brand sometimes have different qualities like different amino's and stuff like that.

Re: Supplements

you just fill it out and get the card there and the best part is you get the discount right away. They also have stuff on clearance that you could look at if you want some cheap protein bars or whatever. I used the 100% whey protein from gnc, it comes in that all black jug and they taste great and dissolve easily in water. I went in the other day and they had a higher priced protein on sale so i got that, but it tasted really bad and didnt dissolve in water too well so once I finish with that I'm going back to my original protein.

Re: Supplements

the gold card thing isn't hard at all....

I agree with Zwrangler. try them both and see which one you like best. when you decide to try the nitro-tech get strawberry (by far the best flavor IMO). why not just bring a shaker cup with you to the gym with some protein in it and just add water to it after the workout and drink it on the way home. those first 30 min after working out is the vital time for nutrients (protein, creatine, glutamine, etc.). i think bringing a shaker cup is your best bet.

Hey I hear ya pnois. Back when I started using protein like a year ago, my parents didn't know about it, and I thought they would freak cause they had been paranoid about that I might be taking steroids or something. LoL. But I took protein for a few months, and it was a huge pain in the ass - cause I had this elaborate system developed to be able to take it secretely, and it really sucked. lol. This is how I broke it to them - I started using my mom's slimfast shakes, telling her that I needed protein after I worked out. And of course this created anger / inconveniance. So about a week later, I showed up with a 6 pound tub of whey mix from GNC and was like "Yeh, I swung by GNC on the way home and picked up some protein mix so I wouldn't have to use yours anymore" and suprisingly, she didn't even question it. lol I guess it was all just in my head that I had formulated. So I think if you break it to your dad in a way like this, you might have success with it. You just gotta be slick, that's all.
