Buzzing from gas tank

'94 S15 4.3L V6 w/ CPI, auto everything

The fuel pump buzzes constantly when the ignition is turned on. I don't think that is normal. Is this related to some of the wire or vacuum hose posts I asked about? Thx!

FYI the blazer peeps all say that buzzing fuel pumps are normal for GM trucks.

Good. Because I really did not want to have to drop the fuel tank. :O

Re: Buzzing from gas tank

My 96 Jimmy does the same. Although mine got a little louder once I replaced it (with an original AC Delco part) I try to ignore it every time I hear it, But I can't get used to it.

Re: Buzzing from gas tank

Not a buzzing, but a high pitch whining noise.

Re: Buzzing from gas tank

Both of mine make noise, and got louder after putting in new pumps.
