small black wire with rt-angle fitting near distributor?

'94 S15 4.3L V6 w CPI, auto everything

Through the firewall behind the distributer cap there is a wire cluster from the cab into the engine compartment.

There is a small short black wire with a rt-angle fitting that I can't figure out where it goes. Anyone know the one I'm talking about?

Any help is appreciated.

Is it black or gray? On the 1st gens the wire that isn't connected is typically the test connector for the fuel pump (add 12v to it and it will kick on the fuel pump)... Can you take a pic of it and post it?

How do I post pictures to this forum? I can take pix, I just don't know how to post them.

There are actually two wires. The gray one is on the passenger side and is shorter. It sounds like the test wire you are talking about.

This black wire is on the driver side of the distributor cap. It is about 8" long and has a right-angle connector that looks like it goes on a round 1/8" tube.

Here is the pic link:

It looks like it attaches down by the distributor, but I don't see where.

I used image shack to host the pics. No registration required. Very easy to use.

Thats' the fuel pump test line. Add 12v to it and your fuel pump will kick over.

The short gray wire with the black plastic plug (2nd picture) is the fuel pump tester according to rlith. Thanks for that info bro.

Now what about the 1st picture, the black wire coming out of the wire harness that seems to plug somewhere in the vacinity of the distributor?

I don't know what this is nor where it plugs into.

I just got word that the black "wire" with the 90 joint fitting might be the vacuum control line for the HVAC controls. This is supposed to T into the vacuum line that comes from the rear passenger side of the intake manifold.

Did I forget to mention that my selector switch isn't working for my heater/AC?
