Gas Mileage
I just bought a 1994 4Runner last week and it gets about 13 miles to the gallon. I don't know a whole lot about cars and was wondering how to improve my gas mileage.

They are poor in this category but I changed my o2 sensor and tweaked 2 more miles per gallon out of my v6 (94) I am up to 19 mpg now. The 02 sensor cost me 120.00 at DAP and it will take many mikes to recoup that charge.

Re: Gas Mileage
There's a lot of factors: Size of tires, aftermarket parts, how heavy your foot is, maintenance, air filter, exhaust, towing, 3,000 pound stereo equipmenmt, just to name a few, can affect your MPG.

Re: Gas Mileage
neither, dont get a k&n air filter if you ever drive off road or in dusty, dirty conditions. K&N filters have been known to let dirt through to the engine, not just dirt, but visible to the naked eye dirt. BAD NEWS

Re: Gas Mileage
Get the AMSOIL (mesh) or TRD (cotton) oiled air filters.
Also, make sure you keep your tires at recommended or slightly higher than recommended pressure. |
