Re: engine stops! help plz

Need more info. Does it only do this when normal operating temp? Cold? After driving a while?

If it only does when the engine is warm and when slowing down, I would suspect the TCC solenoid-unplug it to test. You can leave it unplugged it repairs are $$$.

If it usually does this when cold check/clean your IAC valve.

Good Luck.

the engine stops when slowing down (most on warm), or when i am in N (neutral) and i shift to Reverse (slow, and engine stop, its the kind of stop when rpms go down under 1000 rpm) but some times, not allways, the last thing..driving about 70 km/hr and slowing down to 30km/hr (aprox) happend the same. nobady can help, mora than 3 mechanics, could be the catalyst or something in the vaume line? and what is the TCC? and what i must unplugg? please eplain me more, its dificult about muy poor english, thanks a lot

Re: engine stops! help plz

Your english is fine.

The TCC is the Torque Converter Clutch. The plug is on the transmission, on the front-drivers side. It is the only plug in the area, so you really cannot confuse it. It is kinda large, about an inch wide. You can unplug it to test. If the problem still exist then plug it back in.

Why not? I have the TCC unplugged on my 94 for a couple of years now. In theory you loose a little gas mileage, but I have not noticed any loss.

Re: engine stops! help plz

Raise the hood. You can reach it just standing there.

Re: Re: engine stops! help plz

You vcan leave it unplugged forever it jusat mean highway gas mileage will drop as the torque converter will have no solid conection to the motor and will still run on just the fluid but its still cheaper!
