building ls/vtec

I'm just starting to put together all the parts and stuff that I need to build an ls/vtec. I have a b16a right now I have the ls block. I'm gonna buy some eagle rods. But my questions is if I should balance the crank shaft or not. I want this to be reliable even though its not my daily driver and I'm going to be going na. Oh, and should I get the i or h eagle rods?

Re: building ls/vtec

If your planing on raising the rev limit on the short block, have it ballanced with the rods and pistons your using just to make sure you don't blow anything apart.

yeah you should balance the crank. it will help with the higher revving you plan on doing.

I'm not to good with stuff like that, but I believe the p30 r si pistons. corret me if I'm wrong. I wanted to go with the ctr pistons but I heard that the sir pistons will have a higher compression. Like I said I have a jdm b16a so I'm just gona use those pistons if they still look good and buy new rings.
