connecting rod caps
Okay this is what i was wondering. I have my pm7 rods and pistons ready to go into my zc. When i pulled them out, i handed the cap to my friend the way that they came out. Well he was smoking at the same time and two of them got turned around. Two of them have both grooves on one side and the other two have the grooves on opposite sides. So what i am asking is which way are the caps supposed to go. Any information is greatly appretiated because this is the only thing holding me back from getting my motor put together.

Re: connecting rod caps
Your talking about the grooves that hold the bearing?

Re: connecting rod caps
make sure there are no markings showing how they should be lined up. as far as I know they should be opposite each other.

Re: connecting rod caps
Then install the rod caps and torque the nuts to the proper specification. Be certain that the rod cap isn't installed backwards. The tangs on the bearings should be on the same side. We finished Part One by installing all the pistons and rods, and next month we'll bolt up the heads, intake and the oil pan. We're also shooting to have the engine back in the car and dyno tested, so stay tuned as we put the heat in Hot Handler.
I found that on a mustang build up site http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...0306mm_toohot/ its on the very bottom it shows them putting the motor together EDIT: Almost on the bottom 3/4ths of the way down

Re: connecting rod caps
Slipknot your right, I double checked after thinking about it. They should bothe be on the same side and facing the front (exhaust side) of the motor.
Sorry about that, I'm not sure what I was of thinking at the time
