door ajar beeper

I need to disconnect the door ajar beeper. I bent my door so it does not fully close. New door on the way. I've searched under the dash but cannot find it. Can anybody tell me where it is located? Or which fuse contros it.
96 ranger.

Thanks
Mike

Is there a door pin switch in the door jamb on the 1996? If so pull the switch to open the circuit (or ground the wire. Dunno if it's normally open or closed).
G/luck

in 95 they started putting the switch on the mechanism in the door.

@mickiec on my ranger (1995) the fuse that controls the dome light and the odometer shuts off that annoying alarm.

You could unplug the switch in the door.

The buzzer is physically located in the GEM module behind the radio, in the dashboard. You would need to remove the radio with special Ford tool and open up the GEM. Once the GEM is opened you would need to locate the piezo tweeter and desolder it from the circuit board. That is the only way besides disabling speedo, dome light or ripping the door apart. Good luck, Joe

Re: door ajar beeper

Thanks guys...

I removed the fuse temporarly. Did not worry about wipers here in AZ. Replaced the door. All is well.
