94 nissan sentra charging problems

My altenator isnt charging. when I called to price one there was a note on the part# in the puter that said If lamp fuse is blown the altenator will not charge. What fuse would this be and where is it on the car. I would hate to buy an altenator and it just be some fuse .

well first of all, you're in the wrong section of the nissan forums.

but off the top of my head, i'd say it might be a fuse between the alternator and the battery..

First thing you should do is make sure the battery terminals and posts are clean.

After that pull every fuse in the Sentra,it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes at the most. The interior panel below the steering wheel and the 2 black boxes in the engine compartment.

If any are broken or burnt then you should replace it.

There aren't any stand-alone fuses related to the alternator in a '94 Sentra, regardless of motor or transmission.

Hope this helps.
