98 Accord will not start
I have a 98 Accord that was originally sold in Canada. It currently will not start, it turns over fine but doesn't start. The Green Key icon flashes on the dash and the door open indicators are flashing red. Any ideas?
Thanks, Gary |

Re: 98 Accord will not start
Could be any thing in the fuel injection process, I'm not really up to par with all the warning things... but u might just wanna have someone look at it (where it's free)

Re: 98 Accord will not start
Check the manual...what does the green key dashlight mean...I don't have a 98, so I don't know...but it almost sounds like a security feature.

Re: Re: Re: 98 Accord will not start
The green key light is for the immobilizer system. Your key has an rf tag built in. When you turn your key to position (II) the car checks the tag on the key to make sure its correct, the light will then turn off and you can start your car. There may be a problem with the key or immobilizer system. Need to take it to a dealer to have it checked out.

Re: 98 Accord will not start
Thanks carguy999, the key I'm using is not the original. It was one I had made as a spare. :-)
