pivot headlight controller no more! free lazy eyes, and no getting dirty!

here it is:
pop out the headlight pop up switch, the one on the left of the gauge pod that pops the headlights up for cleaning. just pull it out, it might stick, but thats how to remove it, it just has little tabs on it.
the switch has a little semicircle picture on it with a double sided arrow pointing up and down.

now, locate the brown wire on the back of it, and cut it, yep, cut it. or you can try to remove it so you can put it back on later, but who uses that switch anyway!?!

now, pop the switch back into the panel, and your done!

what the switch does is "fix" the position of the headlights. so, to lazy your lights, turn your lights on all teh way so they pop up, then press the new modified buttion, then turn your lights off. the lights will stay up, but turned off.

now, if you press the new modified button again, the lights will begin to fall, so press it again to stop them at the desired level of lazyness.

when you turn your lights on, it will override the switch, and they will function normally. if you leave the new button activated, when you turn your lights off some random night, and they stay up, dont panic, just press the mod button again, and theyll go down. simple, free, and no more manually adjusting them from under the hood.

it sounds hard to get them right, but its really easy, so enjoy.

peace

Re: pivot headlight controller no more! free lazy eyes, and no getting dirty!

yeah i'm gonna reconnect the brown wire to a switch.. maybe even the actual controller.. HEY THATS AN IDEA!!!!! i never thought of that!! would the controller work if i connected it to the brown wire????

edit: that would also make installation of this controller much easier.. cause the instructions that come with it are japanese and you can't do it by simply looking at pictures..

Re: pivot headlight controller no more! free lazy eyes, and no getting dirty!

not old news to me chuki.. this is the first i've ever heard about it.. i'm gonna try it when its not -4000° outside..
the proper install guide tells you to re-wire it at the controller box (behind the ecu).. i don't know if it would work by simply putting the pivot switch in the brown wire..
