Thermostat replacement???

Can I install a higher temp thermostat without changing any other settings? I am thinking it has a 160ish and would like to replace with 195ish temp.

Get more heat into the car. I know it is more wise to run the engine cooler. Maybe I have a different problem. The car just does not give ample heat inside. Cooling system components all check fine.

Re: Thermostat replacement???

If it's the stock thermo you don't wanna get a higher temp one. Any higher than what it is set to at the factory and you're asking for trouble. Maybe the one you have is faulty. Sometimes they stick open and this will cause the heat not to function very well.

I doubt it has a 160 standard. Stock is likely a 180 or 195. Pull the thermostat out and you should find the temp rating casted on the housing of it.
