Re: Broken Rod Please Help!
First of all how many miles are on the engine? If it is over 100K you may want to replace the engine rather than rebuild it. You can probably buy a low cost used engine cheaper than you can rebuild the one you have. Although there will be a labor charge for removal and installation you can still save money. Try Cherry-auto.com to see if one is available for your car. Usually they come with a warranty and the price is reasonable. I am sorry but I don't know anyone in that area who can do th work for you.

Re: Broken Rod Please Help!
I know a real reliable shop in P.G. County (Beltsville), but I have no idea what he'd charge or if you'd consider it reasonable. Let me know if you want his number and I'll send it to you privately.

Re: Broken Rod Please Help!
Sounds like a good deal to me. $500 is reasonable to pull the old engine and put in another one. Let us know when he gets done and if you are happy with the change.
