Ebay Nova Questions

I found this nova on ebay link is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...518570662&rd=1

It seems like a pretty clean and straightforward car. The rust spots do not seem that bad and I have strongly considered bidding on it. Only problem is it is in Idaho and I'm in southern california. I got about 2100 to work with on buying a 68-72 nova with a stick and I will fix it up as I go. I also have to factor in the time and money to go up there, rent a one way trailor and tow it back. I'd plan on fixing the body work through a college course, getting a 350 block and rebuild it, and change the stick to the floor. The biggest appeal to this car to me is getting the manual transmition package deal thing.

I can deal with the rust that the pics show but the only thing I am VERY concerned with is that I know in certain parts of Idaho they salt the roads. I am afraid if I do bid on the car and get up under it there is going to be a ton of rust with a couple spots getting ready to rust through. Although with 72,000 origional miles I can't estimate how much underside rust there would be.

Comments, pinions on what I should do? I know it's ultimately my decision in the end, I value your guys imput though.

Ask for more pics of the underside of the car. Do you know anyone that lives remotely close to the place? I would definitely get more info on the car before I went after it bigtime.

Re: Ebay Nova Questions

Ask for pictures of the underside if possible. You need to be sure you want this car before u waste your time going out there! Also, it's an auction so there is no set price so it may come out to more than you are willing to pay. Have you tried looking for cars in so. cal?
