Re: air silencer

unbolt the airbox from the inner fender, remove, then i believe there are 3 scres that hold it in. you'll have to pull some screws from the bumper cover/splash guard, itl come out from between

Re: air silencer

yea its pretty simple, and theres those plastic pins that hold in the splash guard in the wheel well, those can be pryed out with the wedge side of a hammer, and then they can be put back in very easily. once you get the splash guard off, its all self explanatory.

Re: air silencer

yea, Im not sure exactly what that will do to your car but if you are in a very rainy place, then wait until spring, or whenever your dry season is.

Re: air silencer

don't worry about water. i've had the air silencer off on my 96 for about 4 years now. no problems.

Re: air silencer

well...

Aint that sumthin. I did all that except I did not re attach the small black tube. Isnt a bunch of water in the air intake somewhat of a problem?

Re: air silencer

Yes water in the intake is bad, but water will never get up that high. A few drops maybe (and the air filter can block that), but you're never going to phsyically suck in water unless your in 1 foot of standing water.

Re: air silencer

Well if youve had yours off your 4 years, I guess I believe you, but it was really unnerving to drive in heavy rain with the thick mist from other cars being sprayed at the front of my car.
